Statewide Transportation Improvement Program-Transit Element

The Statewide Transportation Improvement Program is a federally required document that outlines Louisiana’s planned transportation projects over four years.  It serves as a comprehensive roadmap for infrastructure investments, ensuring that federal funding is allocated effectively to enhance the state’s transportation network.

The STIP includes projects from DOTD, Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), and local agencies, addressing critical improvements in highways, bridges, public transit and other transportation modes.  This plan is updated regularly to reflect evolving priorities and funding availability, ensuring a well-coordinated, efficient and sustainable transportation system for Louisiana’s residents and businesses.
