On-the Job Training Supportive Services (SS) Program

The Department’s On-the-Job Training  Supportive Services Program will assist youth aging out of the foster care system and the juvenile justice system by equipping them with pre-employment skills and training.  The Department’s goal for implementing this program is to educate and prepare youth to enter into the highway transportation industry. Through various soft skills training and job readiness activities, the state’s underserved youth will have a documentable pathway to a registered apprenticeship program in Louisiana.  With this concept in mind, the Department has been allocated federal funding in OJT Supportive Services to assist in improving employment and business opportunities for underserved youth in Louisiana.
