Americans with Disabilities Act Program

Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has a responsibility to ensure that programs, services, activities and construction projects comply fully with the provisions of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (Title II ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504). The core mission is to provide safe and efficient transportation facilities. These statutes mean that pedestrian access must be provided for persons with disabilities to the agency's streets and sidewalks, whenever a pedestrian facility exists.
