ESF-1 Transportation
The primary mission of Emergency Support Function 1 (ESF-1) is to provide vital evacuation and transportation support to individuals in disaster-affected areas who are unable to evacuate on their own. ESF-1’s role includes coordinating safe, efficient, and compassionate transportation during emergencies, supplementing local resources with essential transportation solutions when they are overwhelmed, and supporting repatriation efforts to help displaced individuals return safely to their homes.
By working closely with other state agencies, ESF-1 ensures a coordinated and compassionate response, always prioritizing the well-being of those affected by disasters. Through these efforts, ESF-1 plays a key role in strengthening community resilience, helping communities overcome transportation challenges, and recover more quickly in the aftermath of adversity.
