Hydraulics

The mission of the Hydraulics Section is to establish and apply design procedures, coordinate the design of hydraulic structures, provide technical expertise in resolving drainage problems and litigation, design and detail drainage structures (box culverts, headwalls, manholes, catch basins, etc.) which are cost effective and conform to current national and state safety standards, provide technical studies, provide bridge hydraulic analysis and scour monitoring for bridges.

Our current objectives include:

• Provide support in planning and designing a transportation system to safely and adequately drain roadway without impacting adjacent surroundings.
• Maintain in-house technical expertise for plan development of hydraulic design.
• Maintain support for other sections within the Department.
