US 61: AIRLINE @CECIL INT IMP (ORLEANS)

ORLEANS PARISH

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (LADOTD) will conduct an open house public meeting for the proposed US 61: AIRLINE @CECIL INT IMP (ORLEANS) project. The project proposes intersection improvements at the intersection Airline Highway (US 61) and Cecil Street in Orleans Parish. The project will extend the existing median creating a RCUT intersection eliminating left hand turns from Cecil Street onto US 61. The project also proposes to cut and stripe a pedestrian crossing adding curb ramps on US 61 and convert this intersection to a signalized intersection to facilitate pedestrian crossing to the Jefferson Parish Transit bus stop. 

The purpose of the meeting is to provide information about the project and to obtain input from interested parties. There will be a continuous multi-media presentation during the meeting and additional project information will be available. Representatives from LADOTD will be available at the open house to answer questions and discuss issues related to the project. 

Verbal and written comments on the project can be submitted at the meeting. Comments can also be mailed to the LADOTD address shown below, postmarked by June 26, 2026.

LA 648 & ACADIA ROAD INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS

LAFOURCHE PARISH

LADOTD in conjunction with the City of Thibodaux, the Houma Thibodaux Metropolitan Planning Organization, and the Louisiana Office of Facility Planning and Control propose to construct a two-lane roundabout at the intersection of LA 648 & Acadia Road intersection located in Thibodaux, LA in Lafourche Parish.

The purpose and need of the project is to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, and enhance safety on LA 648 (Percy Brown Rd) and Acadia Rd/ Acadia Woods Dr.

The purpose of this meeting is to give information and obtain input from interested parties. Representatives from The City of Thibodaux, DDG, and LADOTD will be available to answer questions and discuss issues related to the project.

The public meeting will be held on Wednesday June 3rd, 2026, from 6:15-8:00 PM at the following location:

Attendees may submit written comments at the meeting. Comments may also be mailed to the City of Thibodaux at the address provided. Comments must be post marked by June 13th, 2026, to be included in the transcript of this meeting.
