Pavement Management

The Pavement Management Unit monitors the performance of all the highways in the state. This is accomplished by measuring the pavement condition and optimizing repair strategies for pavement rehabilitation and maintenance.

This office collects data through consultant contract using vehicles that measure surface characteristics including roughness, cracking and faulting. This data is processed by the Pavement Management software to optimize pavement rehabilitation and maintenance strategies. The Pavement Management Unit uses deterioration modeling software to recommend strategic funding needs and levels to maintain infrastructure.
