FEMA 0273: Managing Floodplain Development through the National Flood Insurance Program – This course is usually given a couple times a year at FEMA’s Emergency Management Institute (EMI) (E0273). It is also frequently field deployed by a State, Community or an Association (L0273). You can check the course schedule here.
FEMA 0278: NFIP/Community Rating System – This course is also given at EMI. You can check the course schedule here.
NFIP 101 – This course is an introduction to Floodplain Management. For students new to floodplain management, taking the course from beginning to end is recommended. For more experienced Floodplain Administrators/Managers, use the course to refresh your knowledge by periodically popping in to view/review certain sections on basic floodplain management tools, terms and concepts as needed. Certified Floodplain Managers (CFMs) can earn professional credit (12 CECs) by completing the entire course, which is a requirement. To earn the credit, please ensure that you select the option “For Professional Credit” when taking the course. NOTE: This course does not translate to any FEMA E/L0273 course credits.
