Monthly Permits
House Movers Equipment - $15 per Month
- This permit authorizes companies engaged in the business of moving buildings to transport over dimensional equipment not carrying a load.
- It allows empty tractor/trailer combinations to travel on all state-maintained highways; however, equipment exceeding 8’ 6” wide may not move on Interstate highways without a separate oversize permit. Equipment exceeding 10’ wide is restricted to movement during daylight hours only.
- A certified escort is required for each move for loads that exceed 12’ wide and/or 90’ long.
- Travel is not prohibited at night, provided the vehicle does not exceed 10’ wide. Travel is also not prohibited during moderate rain; however, it is prohibited on certain holidays.
Monthly Oversize Permit - $10 each day the permit is valid
- This permit authorizes the movement of vehicles and loads exceeding legal limitations for length, width, height, and/or projecting loads, but not legal weight limitations. Vehicles and loads may be a maximum of 90’ long, 30’ front or rear overhang, 12’ wide, and/or 14’ 4” high.
- It is valid for pre-selected days: Monday-Friday, Monday-Saturday, or Monday-Sunday.
- Holidays and certain other days may be excluded.
Oilfield Special Equipment - $15 per month
- This permit authorizes the transport of empty lowboy trailers designed to transport oilfield equipment and exceeding legal length and width limitations.
- Maximum allowable dimensions on non-Interstate highways are 70’ long and 10’ wide.
- Maximum allowable dimensions on Interstate highways are 70’ long and 8’6” wide.
- Lowboy combinations with dimensions exceeding those referenced in this section must obtain a regular oversize permit.
- The permit does not apply to over height or overweight vehicles and loads.
- Travel is not prohibited at night, during moderate rain or on holidays.
Pleasure Craft - $10 for 30 days
- This permit authorizes the movement of privately owned pleasure crafts, together with their accompanying trailers, when the overall width does not exceed 10’.
- It is valid for 30 days from the issue date and allows travel on all state highways, except the Interstate system.
- Travel is not prohibited at night, during moderate rain or on holidays.
- These permits are electronically generated documents obtained from the Truck Permit Office.
