Video Distribution Management System

Traffic video monitoring is a major component for the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development’s Intelligent Transportation Systems Operations.

Aside from assisting DOTD’s traffic management staff to conduct more effective traffic management activities, the traffic video also allows the public to make more informed decisions about their travel plans.

When the traffic video is distributed in real time to DOTD’s partner agencies, incident management can be enhanced by providing live video as a critical collaboration and incident management tool. DOTD’s traffic camera video feeds provide equitable access to local first responders, public, media (regional TV news stations), and other traffic management partners.
